![]() Honed weapons gain a Bonus to damage rolls (again about the same as the AC bonus from that monster's armor) Masterwork weapons gain a Bonus to attack rolls made with the weapon (about equal to the AC bonus of each type of monster) You can make a weapon out of the remains of monsters (no need to capture or bring a fresh corpse) but crafting weapons gives the weapon one of two properties: Honed or Masterwork I'm not sure on the balancing on any of this, so someone with a better head for numbers should probably correct me, but I think this would make the game a lot better.Īctually i have been working on making rules for making weapons out of monster parts, its only a WIP right now but it works as such: The same sort of bonuses and changes can be made, with slight bonuses to attack and damage based on the rarity of the monsters, and bonus effects, such as being able to do elemental damage. You bring up how a smith can make Monster variants of armor, but they should be able to make monster variants of weapons too. The other thing I want to bring up is weapon upgrades. You can also do a pheremone shot, and THAT lasts for one turn, but if you shoot your kinsect the next turn the enemy has a disadvantage on the save. I suggest that the buffs can last for longer, say 5 turns or so, and you can get two buffs at a time the tradeoff being that you only get the buff if your kinsect actually hits the target, to represent you simply missing. I realize you have to balance things, but you're basically sacrificing your attack on your turn to potentially damage the monster less and get a buff that only lasts for one turn. Most seem pretty balanced, but the Insect Glaive raises a couple of questions. Now, let me bring up a few issues I have with the weapons.
